One Step at a Time

It’s been such a long long while since I last posted on this blog. Life has been so busy – relocation, birth of my daughter, my dearest grandpa’s passing, moving to another house…….the list goes on and on.

Looking back at all my previous posts and the cards I made, I still LOVE making cards! Hopefully, I’ll find time to make some and continue posting them here. Thank you once again for your patience and support!

Party Favours

Handmade party favours are an absolute godsend! Think about those times when you want to thank guests for attending your party or your wedding or your baby’s full month celebration. Think about those times when you just want to thank those who have helped and supported you in that project. Think about those times when you want to give your students something before they move on to the next class. Writing a card for each individual may not be that appropriate. Yet, you want to recognise these people! Ah……now you begin to appreciate handmade party favours. Best part is they are small and inexpensive – perfect for giving away to groups of people.

Here’s a preview of some of the types of party favours we’ll be launching soon! We have (clockwise from top left) the handmade matchbox, the column twist containers and the fold-over packages. Gift items include premium tea sachets, specialty chocs and imported candies.

Grand Daughter

An ultra-versatile card! The 3D-oval tag can be customised to read “Dearest Friend”, “Happy Mother’s Day”, “I Love You”, “Open at Your Own Risk”…..ok, you get the drift……

The self-trimmed oval tag is hand drawn and hangs fashionably by a brad on ric-rac paper braid. The orage paper is embossed and tinted with floral vine! Contrasting colours which match the flowers on the acid-free patterned paper are used for this card. 3 paper flowers which have been hand decorated are used to further accentuate the floral theme of this card.

Look! Chick Crossing

No guys, I don’t mean sexy babe. I mean chick, literally.

In this card, a “feathered” orange cotton fleck chick wearing a cute red hat is seen crossing a zebra crossing and it holds a sign ”TAKE CARE”. Blue chalk is dusted at the top for a cloudy effect. Sweet pink butterflies fly freely.

The sign on the envelope is left blank intentionally so you can further personalise the card by writing in the recipient’s name!

On the inside of the card, BON VOYAGE is stamped. The card front is also appropriate as a get well card.

Vellum Flowers for Mum

Another Mother’s Day bundle specially created for mothers.

The card and matchbox in this bundle have an orange theme. Blue vellum flowers are attached to the card by a brad. Below the stamped word “MUM” are three orange daisies, each of which have a crystal rhinestone in the centre.

The petite matchbox which was handmade from scratch measures 2″x2.5″x1″ and are filled with what I affectionately call “hay”.

A Mother Makes A House A Home

Accordian Card

This is a card made specially for someone who’s going away. As many would be signing on it and everyone would probably have alot to write, I decided on an accordian card.

The yellow ribbon is made of paper. It was embossed, edged and perforated. Special alpha cards were layered on dotted stamps and the entire front was further edged to give an antique look.

Red thread and orange circles (the recipient’s fave colour) were added to the back of the envelope.

The 1st page of the accordian card! A pink present, with scalloped edges, holds a personal note. This note can be removed from the present for ease of writing.

The next page is simply a series of reminders for the recipient when she’s alone out there and when the going gets tough – to remember to slow down and appreciate the tiniest miracles happening around her, to give thanks in everything…..and a pull out luggage tag to remind her of the friends she can always turn to.

A page of notes. One with a huge “FRIENDS” pencil and a person-shaped clip. Another with flowers and JAZZ yarn.

When missing the comforts of life at home, just turn on the TV and watch “LOVE – 爱”. This chinese character is hand drawn and embossed. A vase with buttons sewn on for a homely feel in a faraway place. And finally, a page to say goodbye. A felt aeroplane is seen flying away leaving white smoke. White “smoke” is also used to draw the words “Bon Voyage”. The green paper is embossed with little wandering hands and feet…so appropriate for the occasion.
